Stopped here while on the way to a different eatery but it looked really nice, so thought we'd try it - and I'm pleased we did. The food was amazing - genuinely one of the best steak and ale pie I've had in a pub. My wife had fish and chips and that was equally fantastic. Cleverly, they have smaller plates which my wife had and even that was sufficient. The portion sizes are excellent. Would definitely recommend and have already pinned so we can return.

Clean, bright pub with plenty of space and a proper menu, loads of real food, not just reheated nonsense. Local produce used throughout, and they were happy to tweak a dish to suit allergies without fuss. Portions were generous to say the least - two plates cleared, no problem. Wholesome stuff, well cooked, and no corners cut. Staff were switched on: attentive but not hovering. Prices were fair, especially given the quality and size of the meals. All in all, a solid place doing things properly. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Booked a last minute one nighter, so could be close to our hike the next day. Lovely B&B, easy to find, great location, free parking and amazing food. Be warned if you get the fish and chips, it’ll be the size of you! Only improvements I would make is maybe have a couple of hooks behind the bathroom door so you can hang your towels. The other is, maybe an information booklet in the room with the WiFi details and breakfast times, because neither were mentioned upon checkin and had to ask. Other than that, the staff were lovely and helpful.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay and before checking in enjoyed a refreshment out front in the Sun. Slight problem with the Heating in the room but it was quickly resolved and profuse apologies were offered. Rooms were comfortable and food overall was delicious

Lovely inn, staff very helpful and friendly. Evening meal, chicken parmo was fab and I had shepherds pie and it was very flavoursome. Cheesecake and Ice creams were delicious. Breakfast was great, best bacon I have tasted in years. Good portion and lots of tea. Overall it was a lovely relaxing stay.

We visited for an evening meal with friends. The food we had was good to excellent. Service was friendly and good. Parking ( in the dark of evening) was tricky and there are a few huge rocks that protect grassed areas that can be easily missed. The soft drink I had with my meal could gave been chilled better, but that's my personal preference. We paid about £35 per person for a main, sweet and a soft drink.

The shepherds inn is beautiful set in the village, plenty of parking spaces. Old world exterior, modern interior with quirky art sculptures on the walls. Very busy for a Tuesday night, very efficient friendly staff. Good choices on menu and options to have smaller portion size from the main menu. Absolutely delicious selection of desserts on offer. They make a great baileys coffee. The overall bill for 5 adults came to a little over 140 pounds sterling. We ordered 1 full main meal, 4 smaller options, 5 dessert, 2 baileys coffees, 2 alcohol drinks, 3 soft drinks, so I think that the price was very reasonable. Tip payed separately. A wonderful time was had by all
